The purpose of the Mero Drainage Project was to alleviate flooding issues in the community caused by unpredictable rainfall, storm surge, and sea level rise that threatened the tourism sector and accompanying livelihoods.

This publication was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), the University of Aruba, the Government of Aruba, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), with credits to author Norma Cherry-Fevrier of the OECS.
